Steam Kinetic Mill

Product Particle Size: D50 adjustable between 0.5 and 10 μm.

Features: High-temperature steam is used as the kinetic energy medium for pulverization. Passing a specially designed Laval nozzle, the high-speed collision crushes the material. The crushed material enters a forced eddy current classification system, where qualified material enters an insulated collection system, while coarse material falls into the pulverization zone for further pulverization. The entire process is completed dry. Particle sizes can reach submicron or nanometer levels, significantly improving energy efficiency. This system can be used to crush bulk materials and solid waste (such as slag and fly ash), achieving low-carbon, energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and resource-recycling benefits. Capacity and particle size range vary depending on the material and application industry.

Applications: Bulk solid wastes such as slag, fly ash, and steel slag; non-metallic minerals such as calcium carbonate, talc, and quartz; and emerging materials such as lithium carbonate, lithium iron phosphate, and white carbon black.

Product Advantages

    1. Superheated steam is used as the gas source, with an operating pressure generally ranging from 8-40 bar and a steam temperature of 230-360°C, which also serves as a drying agent. The high jet velocity provides increased kinetic energy input and strong crushing force, enabling the production of particles with a D50 range of 0.5-10 microns, excellent particle shape, and high activity. Nano-sized particles can be produced dry-processed as needed.
    2. The crushing process relies on the collision of the materials themselves, resulting in a completely autogenous grinding process, making the equipment wear-resistant. Key components can be made of ceramic materials such as alumina, zirconia, and silicon carbide, ensuring zero contact with the metal throughout the crushing process and high product purity, meeting the requirements for high-purity materials.
    3. The rotor speed can be frequency-controlled, allowing for flexible adjustment of particle size distribution.
    4. The entire system features enclosed crushing, resulting in low dust and noise levels, ensuring a clean and environmentally friendly production process.
    5. The control system is programmable for easy operation.
    6. An explosion-proof design is available, and it can be upgraded to a nitrogen circulation system to meet the ultrafine crushing needs of flammable, explosive, and oxidizable materials.

    Working Principle

Upgraded from conventional airflow mills, this mill utilizes unique high-temperature mechanical sealing and cooling technologies and uses high-pressure steam as its power source. Materials collide, shear, and rub against each other at a speed more than twice that of conventional airflow mills, achieving ultra-fine grinding. The crushed material enters a forced eddy current classification process, where qualified material enters an insulated collection system. Coarse material falls into the pulverization zone for further pulverization, and the purified air is discharged through an induced draft fan. The entire process is completed dryly, driven by the centrifugal force of the classifier wheel and the fan.
